This week, master fly-tyer Davie McPhail teaches us how to tie the Golden Olive Comparadun, a pattern which resembles an olive upright. The olive upright is found on almost every river in Britain as quite possibly the most abundant spring fly you'll find, next to it's close relative the March Brown which we previously learned about here and here! The olive upright is unique as trout fishers are more concerned with the duns due to how late in the day they lay their eggs.

Hook: Fulling Mill Ultimate Dry Sz14
Thread: Uni - 8/0 Yellow
Tail: Coq De Leon Fibres (Dyed Golden Olive)
Body: For his body, Davie used a self-mixed blend of Cream Rabbit and Natural Squirel. This can be substituted for Wapsi Antron Dubbing - Medium Olive or for a more beige/cream colour you could try Natural Fur Dubbing - Camel.
