During our Spring Open Weekend, the Westin team joined us in store to showcase the new lures and talk through the thinking behind the latest colour developments.
Westin representative Thom Hunt gave us a closer look at the new Ricky the Roach patterns and explained why these colours stand out. As an experienced pike angler himself, Thom believes this may be one of the strongest colour ranges Westin have released for the lure.

Westin are constantly refining and evolving their lure ranges, always pushing to make them more effective, more realistic and more visually striking. Their latest development focuses on one of their most popular predator lures — Ricky the Roach.
For this new release, Westin have introduced three brand-new limited edition UV colour patterns, available in both the Ricky the Roach Inline and Multi-Jointed versions.
Designed specifically to maximise visibility and trigger aggressive strikes from predators such as pike, these new colours combine Westin’s realistic roach profile with enhanced UV elements and carefully developed colour transitions.
The New Limited Edition Colours
Ghost UV Roach
The Ghost UV Roach was extensively field tested and quickly proved to be one of the most productive colour patterns in the range.
It features a deep UV green base with vibrant violet flanks, finished with Westin’s highly realistic roach patterning. The colour performs exceptionally well in both clear and slightly coloured water and remains effective across a range of light conditions, from bright sunshine to overcast days.
Headlight UV Roach
The Headlight UV Roach uses a dynamic colour shift that moves from blue to green depending on the angle of light, closely mimicking the subtle colour changes of natural prey fish.
The lure is enhanced with internal glitter, a bright white belly and a UV blue core, giving it exceptional visibility and presence in the water. It’s a bold pattern designed to grab the attention of hunting pike.
Secret UV Roach
The Secret UV Roach is a colour many predator anglers have been hoping to see released more widely.
This exclusive UV blend combines a bright green sheen, darker back and golden flanks with embedded glitter, creating a highly reflective baitfish imitation. Designed to provoke aggressive reaction strikes, it performs well in a wide variety of water conditions.
