Lure Tank Demonstrations – Spring Open Weekend
During our Spring Open Weekend, we host a wide variety of brand representatives across the store, Fly Tyers’ Row and the Casting Pool. For those of you who love lures - large or small, floating or sinking - the Lure Tank Demonstrations are a must-see. If you're chasing Trout in Streams, Pike in Lochs, Bass in Estuaries or Trophy Fish Overseas we have all the gear you need and experts who know how to get the best out of it.
Thousands of Lures. Real-world advice.
Under our roof, we stock an enormous range of lures - and when the brand reps arrive, you’ll see exactly how the latest models are designed to swim, flash and trigger takes. Across the weekend we’ll have representatives from Westin, Savage Gear, Rapala, HTO and Abu Garcia.
Throughout the show, you’ll see each representative demonstrating lures in the tank and in the aisles, explaining how subtle changes in action and rigging can make a huge difference. They're all fanatical anglers who love sharing knowledge so they are more than happy to share practical advice to anyone looking to get more from their lure fishing no matter what species you're chasing.
Timetable
Our Line-Up of Lure Anglers will be entertaining and educating the crowd on our Lure Tank. They'll be geared up with short, punchy demos throughout the day and be available instore all weekend.

Key takeaways from the Lure Tank
- Action matters - small tweaks in retrieve speed can transform a lure.
- Rigging changes everything - hook and trace choices impact balance and hookups.
- Confidence comes from seeing it swim - watch lures perform before you fish them.
- Ask questions - depth, sink rate and pause behaviour are often the difference.
- Match the situation - lure size and profile should reflect the conditions and target species.
