Glasgow Angling CentreAngling Scotland and the SFCA have teamed up to deliver one-to-one angling coaching sessions on the Forth & Clyde Canal, just a short walk from GAC. These sessions take place on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th March as part of the GAC 2026 Spring Open Weekend - Scotland’s largest free angling event.

What to Expect

The SFCA team of qualified and licensed coaches will be running FREE angling taster and development sessions for all ages. Everything is provided, so just turn up and get started.

  • Try fishing on the canal with expert coaching.
  • All bait and equipment are supplied free of charge.
  • Learn the basics, including tackle setup, knot tying, and casting tuition.
  • Get tips on how to catch your first fish and improve your skills.
  • Ask technical questions and receive guidance tailored to your needs.

The sessions are open to everyone and are completely freeUnder 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
