Edinburgh Winter Shore League – Winter Shore League Finale Delivers a Thrilling Finish at Portobello

The Edinburgh Winter Shore League, proudly sponsored by Edinburgh Angling Centre / fishingmegastore.com and Cox & Rawle, came to a dramatic close on 19th December, at Portobello Beach and what a finale it was.

The final match produced several place changes and a cracking finish to an intense battle for the top three league positions. Top angler on the night was Gus Brindle, whose consistency throughout the league, capped with a win in the final match, propelled him into third place overall, leapfrogging both Gordon McLeod and Ian Campbell.

The fight for the top two spots went right down to the wire. Gordon Lyall finished second on the night and claimed first place overall, while Chris Cooper, who placed fourth in the final match, secured second place in the league. A superbly close conclusion to a highly competitive Winter series.

Prize Winners
With Edinburgh Angling Centre employees ineligible for sponsor prizes, awards were allocated as follows:
- 1st Place: £100 EAC voucher + £50 Cox & Rawle voucher - Chris Cooper
- 2nd Place: £60 EAC voucher + £30 Cox & Rawle voucher - Gus Brindle
- 3rd Place: £40 EAC voucher + £20 Cox & Rawle voucher - Gordon McLeod

A three-way tie with a 20cm whiting, caught by Carson Anderson, Gordon McLeod, and Ian Campbell.
