How to tie the Ultimate Winter Banker with Steve Cullen

Even though the temperature is dropping, the fish are still biting. For those still getting out in the cold, fishing their local water or stalking Grayling, Steve Cullen has a pattern for you: The Ultimate winter Banker.

The pattern in question is a Cormorant, which are arguably one of the most simple flies to tie, but also one of the most devastating patterns to use on any UK water. Steve claims in his video this his friend was responsible for the invention of the Cormorant and that Graham Pearson made them famous through his extensive use and success with the fly. In any case, this pattern is an absolute Trout magnet and you should definitely give it a go on your local water!

All materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre or Edinburgh Angling Centre and are listed below. As always, if you need any help finding materials or substitutes, we'll be happy to help.
