How to tie the Purple Nymph of Destiny with Steve Cullen

You probably know what a Nymph pattern looks like, but you probably haven't had the idea of tying a Squirmy Wormy onto it. Steve Cullen introduces us to a pattern that many fly tyers have trouble getting the right materials for, so he's here to set us all on the right path. This is the Purple Nymph of Destiny.

This pattern definitely fits the motto "Less is more" because this requires such little material. All you need is a Bead, Hook, Floss, a Squirmy Wormy tail and a pinch of Dubbing and you've created a Trout and Grayling magnet. Besides being easy to create, the colour variations that could be applied to this are endless too! So have a go at tying this pattern and make sure you have a go in different colour variations!

All materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre or Edinburgh Angling Centre and are listed below. As always, if you need any help finding materials or substitutes, we'll be happy to help.
