Leanr how to tie the Flashback Sussy with Steve Cullen

A simple yet highly effective pattern is in the spotlight today: Steve Cullen’s Flashback Sussy. While Steve describes it as a general-purpose dry fly, don’t let its simplicity fool you—it delivers impressive results on the water.

This fly shares several characteristics with the well-known Suspended Hare’s Ear, a deadly dry fly in Scottish waters. Though loosely inspired by that pattern, Steve prefers to fish the Flashback Sussy more like a Grunter, skating it across the surface during a Sedge hatch for maximum effect.
