Learn to tie The Peach Peeper with Steve Cullen

Today we are checking out a rather buggy pattern, the Peach Peeper or Peach Peeping Caddis, tied by Steve Cullen. Fish it like you would any bug, this is an excellent imitative caddis pattern with an enticing peach wool peeper cloaked with a leggy Partridge hackle that acts as a trigger point.

This is a fairly straightforward pattern to tie up, but don't let it's simplicity fool you, it's a fish magnet, especially for Winter Grayling or Trout throughout the year when they're feeding on the bottom.

One thing that out on this pattern, is the use of split shot over a normal tungsten bead. Normally to weigh a fly down, a bead would be slotted onto the hook, but this pattern makes use of an old traditional method, whereby you tie both a split shot and fluorocarbon directly onto the hook shaft.

All materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre as listed below, as always, if you need any help finding materials or substitutes then we'll be happy to help.
