How to tie the Oil Spill Perdigon with Steve Cullen - Flies for Fast Water Nymphing

Today we are checking out the Oil Spill Perdigon tied by Steve Cullen. The original Perdigon nymph pattern's were invented by the Asturian (a region in the North of Spain) fisherman and fly tier José Carlos Rodríguez. Heavily weighted and tied on a jig hook these are a simple effective pattern designed to excel in fast-moving waters. It's a versatile fly, especially if you adapt the overall weight of the fly. Having a variety of these in your fly box, in different sizes and weights will allow any angler to reach any and all strike zones.

Hook: Fulling Mill Jig Force Barbless BLN Hook, Size 14
Bead/Eye: Veniard Bead, Silver 3mm

Thread: Uni 8/0 Thread, Light Cahill & Uni 8/0 Thread, Black

Tail: Coq De Leon

Body: UTC Midge Tinsel

Collar: Veniard Glo-Brite Spool. No. 8 (Amber)

Varnish/Glue: Gulff UV Resin Thinman 15ml Clear
