How to tie the Bomb-Proof Adams with Steve Cullen

This is a pattern Steve has had in the works for a while now, The Bomb-Proof Adams.

The original Adams fly is a generic dry fly pattern that imitates an adult mayfly, caddis or even  a midge depending on the size. It's a pattern that can be used all year round from very early spring right through.

Steve's version is designed to catch fish and stay afloat and although it's quite involved to tie, that's what makes it bomb-proof. Tied in a variety of sizes, it's a very versatile pattern across various venues. The closed cell foam will keep it floating high and while this take on this pattern includes quite a few materials, Steve's method of tying allows you to go smaller with this pattern where the original became fiddly. Have a few of these ready in your fly box for those rising trout in the Spring!

All of the materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre as listed below, as always, if you need any help finding materials or substitutes then we'll be happy to help.
