How to tie the Viva Nymph with Steve Cullen

Today we are taking a look at and early season pattern tied by Steve Cullen. The Viva Nymph is one of Steve's favourite patterns and finds it effective on small Stillwater venues. Nymphs are a staple part of a Trout's diet and at the right time of day, you'll witness a lot of movement on the water, pair that with classic stillwater Trout Catching colours of the Viva and you've got a winner. Black & Green variants are a necessity in your flybox so get a few of these tied up on size 10 or 12 hooks and ready when Trout are on the feed but need an eye catching mouthful!

Materials Used:

Hook: Kamasan B175 Trout Heavy Traditional, Size 10

Thread: UNI 8/0, Black

Tail: Stillwater Indian Cock Capes, Natural Black

Ribbing: Veniard French Plated Round Wire, Silver
Body: Veniard Hen Pheasant Tails

Wing: Lureflash Glow Floss, Lime
Dubbing: Veniard Peacock Dub, Green & Black
