Learn how to tie The Cul De Corrib Midge by Steve Cullen

Today we are checking out the Cul De Corrib Midge, tied by Steve Cullen. According to Steve, this is a real gem of a fly, because it's mostly used for the most cunning wild Brown Trout. However, it is just as effective if you're targeting Rainbow Trout. 

This fly is a variant of the famous river fly called, the Cul De Canon, created by Gwilym Hughes. The Cul De Corrib Midge is a little heavier than the Cul De Canon as it provides a better target for larger fish, looking for a big meal. Get a few of these tied on Size 10, 12 or 14 hooks and get out and try it!

Hook: Partridge SLD2 Patriot Standard Dry Barbless Hook, size 12

Thread: Uni Thread 6/0 and 8/0 Waxed, Black
Dubbing: Genuine Seals Fur, Claret

Wing: Primo Roe Deer Hair Natural

Thorax: Veniard Grey Goose Herl Natural

Hackle: Stillwater Indian Capes
