If you are looking for a pattern that's easy to tie but also has brilliant fish-catching capabilities, you'll want to give this fly a go! Today we are having a look at the Caddis Pupa, tied by Steve Cullen. The Caddis Pupa is designed to imitate the pupal stage of a Sedge, this is where it transforms from a larvae into an adult.
Being a common food source for Trout, this pattern will find success on Rivers and Stillwater venues. Due to it's simplicity you can get a dozen of these flies tied in a variety of different sized hooks. Simple, effective and will provide results! Get a few of these tied, ready for your next day out!
All of the materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre as listed below, but as always, if you need any help finding materials or substitutes then we'll be happy to help.
