How to tie the Remixed, Claret Hopper by Steve Cullen

Steve Cullen's Remixed Claret Hopper

If you are looking for a dry fly that will provide great results, even on brighter days, give this pattern a go. Steve's "Remix" dubbing blends seal's fur in claret with some synthetic fritz fibres in red, creating a very rich-coloured dubbing. Steve likes this fly to sit high in the water so uses a stiffer cock hackle, but as he explains for a lower sitting version switch out for a hen hackle.

A proven fish-catching pattern with a cool remix so get a few tied up, ready for that next trip.

All of the materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre as listed below, but as always, if you need any help finding materials or substitutes then we'll be happy to help.
