Today we are going to check out one of the most straightforward and simple flies, Steve Cullen has ever tied! This little pattern is the Yellow May Emerger. Steve begins by pointing out that he has never in his experience as an angler, seen any fish take a Yellow May Dun on the river, however he has seen various fish take a Yellow May Emerger so that's exactly what he's making here. There's not a lot of material involved, a hook and 3 materials needed and by the sounds of it, it's simplicity generates some great results. Get a few of these tied up in size in various hooks and try it out as a general emerger or where Yellow Mays are present in the water.
All of the materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre as listed below, but as always, if you need any help finding materials or substitutes then we'll be happy to help.
