How to tie the Number 1 Chalkstream Nymph by Steve Cullen

Today we are checking out the Number 1 Chalkstream Nymph, tied by Steve Cullen. According to Steve, this little fly does incredibly well on the chalkstreams and he believes that it's all down to the colour. It's a fairly straight-forward pattern to tie and it uses very little material. That main material being a Brown Olive CDC for the thorax and a black pepper rabbit fur dubbing for just behind the bead head. Steve recommends having a team of these flies tied, ready for any chalkstream that you might be visiting.

Materials Used:

Hook: Partridge CNFW Czech Nymph Fine Wire Hook

Bead: Wet and Wild Beads, Silver

Thread: Uni Thread 8/0, Camel

Body: Veniard Super Select Cul De Canard, Brown Olive

Thorax: Stillwater Rabbit Dubbing Box
