How to tie the Contrast Coral Booby by Steve Cullen

Today we are checking out the Contrast Coral Booby! This is a straight forward pattern to tie but it's a deadly fly to have in your box. Using Peacock Micro Cactus Chenille for the body and coral coloured marabou for the wing, the cactus chenille is similar to a peacock herl but with that bit more glint and the contrast with the Coral Marabou really makes the fly pop.

Fish this booby pattern on a simple retrieve and pause, allowing the fly to suspend in the water before darting away. It's also a great fly to fish as part of the washing line or in a pulling team during the Summer & Autumn, so get a few of these flies tied ready for then!

All of the materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre as listed below, but as always, if you need any help finding materials or substitutes then we'll be happy to help.
