Today we are looking at a relatively new "Rough and Ready" pattern based off the Woodcock and Hares Ear. Tied on a larger hook, the Hen Pheasant All Rounder Fly is brilliant and as Davie explains in his video, looks even better when it's in the water. The difference between this pattern and that of the Woodcock and Hares Ear is that this fly has no hackles, the 'legs' of this fly are represented by the Dubbing and instead of a Woodcock Wing, it's given a Hen Pheasant Wing. This fly is perfect for year round use and can be fished in all venues, Rivers, Lochs and Reservoirs.
All of the materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre as listed below, but as always, if you need any help finding materials or substitutes then we'll be happy to help. Time to tie the Daddy Long Leg, Wet Fly, with the guidance of Davie McPhail.
