Tying the Red Legged Bibio with Davie McPhail

The Bibio is a classic bushy wet fly, very effective when fished as part of a team of flies for traditional loch style fishing. It represents many terrestrial insects, especially Hawthorn and Heatherfly. The Bibio wet fly will catch both Brown and Rainbow Trout. You can tie these flies in various colours and on larger or smaller hooks. Get a few of these tied for the new Season!

Materials Used:

Hook: Fulling Mill All-Purpose Medium size 12 Thread: Uni-8/0 Black Rib: Silver Tinsel Body: 2/3rds Black Seals Fur and 1/3rd Red Seals Fur Legs: Dyed Red Golden Pheasant Tippet Hackle: Dyed Black Cock
