Tying the Irn Bru F.A.B with Davie McPhail

The FAB or the Foam Arsed Blob is a colourful, vibrant variant of the popular Blob fly, except this fly features a buoyant tail end. These flies can be fished year round and their versatility allows them to be fished using Floating, Intermediate or even Sinking line. Funny fact, The FAB was originally designed for when fisheries declared a ban on Boobies being used on their waters.

All of the materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre as listed below, but as always, if you need any help finding materials or substitutes then we'll be happy to help. Time to tie a Irn Bru F.A.B Fly, with the guidance of Davie McPhail.

Materials Used:

Additional materials: Additionally, Davie made use of Varnish, which he applied to the head after completing the fly.

Davie's preferred type of whip finish tool can be found HERE!
