As mentioned in Steve's video, a method of fly fishing that has somewhat fallen out of favour at the beginning of the Trout season is Wet Fly Fishing. It's unknown why, but those who do fish Wet Flies get some excellent results. One fly that will do well at the beginning of the Trout season is the Waterhen Bloa. The Waterhen Bloa fly is a traditional wet spider pattern, popular for cold wet weather days. It doesn't resemble anything specific, but it covers a wide variety of imitations which makes it a great all-rounder fly.
All of the materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre as listed below, but as always, if you need any help finding materials or substitutes then we'll be happy to help. Time to tie a Waterhen Bloa Fly, with the guidance of Steve Cullen.
