Tying the Mosaic Dabbler International Size by Davie McPhail

Today we are looking at the Mosaic Dabbler International. This fly is a competition fly, which is quite heavily used in the UK and across the globe. Mosaic is one of the deadliest Fly Materials ever, particularly popular with Stillwater Trout anglers it adds something special to lures, wets and nymphs. Based on a flat Lurex Tinsel, with a unique printed, holographic-type pattern/colour combination which that is very attractive to trout. As Davie explain in his video, the hook size he is tying to is technically a competition sized hook, however he adds that outside of competitions, these patterns can be tied to larger or smaller hooks. Since both Brown and Rainbow Trout love this fly, it'd be a great idea to have a few colour variations in your fly box, ready to go.

All of the materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre as listed below, but as always, if you need any help finding materials or substitutes then we'll be happy to help. Time to tie a Mosaic Dabbler International Fly, with the guidance of Davie McPhail.
