Tying the Doobry Wet Fly with Davie McPhail

The Doobry Wet Fly, a pattern devised by a well known Orkney Angler, Stan Headley. It's a classic bushy wet fly designed to catch fry feeders or daphnia feeders. Usually fished as a top dropper; the fibers of the hackle tug at the surface film in imitation of an insect’s leg just as it hatches. This makes this fly ideal for loch style fishing, easily targeting both Brown and Rainbow Trout when the sun is out. Get a few of these excellent wet flies tied up in both bright and dark colour variants, ready for a day of fishing!
