Tying a Deer Hair Caddis Fly with Davie McPhail

The Deer Hair Caddis is a dry fly, designed to look like an adult caddis fly, but don’t be surprised when it takes fish in a different hatch. You can fish this fly dead drift or stripped & twitched. They can be tied in different colour variants as well, with Davie showing a "Chocolate drop"  variant and a striking Cinnamon variant! However, sometimes plain colours work the best. These flies are excellent throughout the Spring and the colder Autumn months.

All of the materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre as listed below, but as always, if you need any help finding materials or substitutes then we'll be happy to help. Time to tie a Deer Hair Caddis Fly, with the guidance of Davie McPhail.
