Tying a Small CDC/Comparadun with Davie McPhail

Comparaduns are one of the most versatile Dry Fly patterns in existence. They imitate low-riding mayflies to near perfection and most commonly used during a Pale Morning Dun hatch. However, many anglers refuse to tie this pattern due to the perceived complexity of tying the deer hair wings. Through Davie McPhail's video, you will find it's not really that difficult and to add to this, Davie adds CDC to the body and the wing of the fly to create a CDC/Comparadun. Davie's variant can be tied on different size hooks and in different colours, so it's probably a great idea to tie a few in an assortment of colours and sizes, ready in your fly box!
