Tying an Undertaker Muddler/Skater by Davie McPhail

Today we take a look at a fly of Davie's own invention, The Undertaker Muddler/Skater fly. As Davie explains in his video, this fly is a variant or mix of two different style flies: The Undertaker and the Muddler. You can recognise the parts of the fly where Davie has mixed them in, the long fine wing featured on a classic Undertaker Atlantic Salmon fly. The bright, bulbous head which can be seen on various different Muddler patterns. Mixing them together creates a fly which Davie explains, has found great success on Rivers in the UK, Canada and even in Argentina. They can be tied on different size Salmon singles with different coloured heads, which allows for a variety to be tied, ready for your fly box.

All of the materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre as listed below, but as always, if you need any help finding materials or substitutes then we'll be happy to help. Time to tie an Undertaker Muddler/Skater Fly, with the guidance of Davie McPhail.
