As we draw into Autumn, many Dry Fly Anglers will be reeling in the excitement, especially those who love to fish Daddy patterns. With a long body, large wings and clumsy legs, the Daddy Long Legs can be found just about everywhere in the UK. Even though they have large wings, Daddy Long Legs aren't actually very good at flying, any small breeze will send them tumbling down and if they're over a body of water, then they become a Trouts next meal. This fly is perfect if you have the wind at your back, blowing onto a River or if you are at a Stillwater venue, to fish near cover.
All of the materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre as listed below, but as always, if you need any help finding materials or substitutes then we'll be happy to help. Time to tie an International Daddy/Hedgehog Fly, with the guidance of Davie McPhail.
