Tying the Black Mirage Buzzer with Davie McPhail

Buzzers are an essential pattern to carry when you are Trout fishing because the naturals make up a significant part of a Trout's diet. Therefore, having different sizes and colours in your fly box can offer an advantage when the fish are feeding heavily on them. You can also use a buzzer as a searching pattern to find out what depth the fish are feeding.

They can be fished static using a floating line, as droppers in a washing line rig, or fished deep on a fast sinking line.

You can find out more about how to fish buzzers for trout in one of our earlier blogs.

All of the materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre as listed below, but as always if you need any help finding materials or substitutes then we'll be happy to help.
