An original form of this fly was listed under the section for panfish flies in Skip Morris' "The Art of Tying The Bass Fly" (ISBN 1-57188-076-3), where Morris elaborates; "For bluegills, I've long fished the Carrot Nymph just under the surface on a floating line, usually in the shallows, around cover. But I've done well with it down on a sinking line. It is simple and deadly."
Similar flies from Fulling Mill include the Andrzejs Hi-Vis, Pink Hot Spot, and The French Nymph. These flies are excellent when deployed as the anchor point in a European Nymphing set-up.

Rib: UTC Wire - Red
Thorax: Davie uses Peacock Bronze Diamond-Brite Dubbing, this can be substituted for several others such as Spirit River - Lite-Brite Fire Fox Peacock
Bead: 2.5mm Tungsten
