Tying the "Carrot Nymph" with Davie McPhail

This week Davie McPhail ties a "Carrot Nymph".
An original form of this fly was listed under the section for panfish flies in Skip Morris' "The Art of Tying The Bass Fly" (ISBN 1-57188-076-3), where Morris elaborates; "For bluegills, I've long fished the Carrot Nymph just under the surface on a floating line, usually in the shallows, around cover. But I've done well with it down on a sinking line. It is simple and deadly."
Similar flies from Fulling Mill include the Andrzejs Hi-VisPink Hot Spot, and The French Nymph. These flies are excellent when deployed as the anchor point in a European Nymphing set-up.

All of the materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre as listed below, but as always if you need any help finding materials or substitutes then we'll be happy to help. Without further ado, here's the master at work.
