Fly-tying with Davie McPhail - Ballinderry Black Variant Wet Fly

The Ballinderry Black Fly is a great traditional fly with many applications, able to take Brown Trout, Seatrout, Salmon, etc.

All of the materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre as listed below, but as always if you need any help finding materials or substitutes then we'll be happy to help. But now it's time to learn from Davie McPhail. Time to learn how to tie his own variant of the traditional Ballinderry Black Wet Fly!

Materials Used:
Hook: Fulling Mill Competition Heavyweight Sz10
Threads: Uni Thread 8/0 - Yellow and Uni Thread 8/0 - Black
Tag: Silver Holographic Tinsel
Tail: Golden Pheasant Crest dyed Sunburst
Rib: Uni - French Oval Silver Tinsel Small

Additional materials: Additionally, Davie made use of some Fulling Mill Super Glue and Varnish over the top to make sure it doesn't go white. These go across the fly's head giving a lovely finish.
