The Daiwa NewEra Fly Reel Kit is, literally, a new era in fly reel engineering. It takes the cartridge spool system, an already familiar concept, and takes things to a whole new level altogether. Each NewEra cartridge spool is entirely reversible and made from aircraft grade, lightweight aluminium, finished off with colour code anodising and a disc drag system that is powered by carbon washers for smooth, powerful line release.
Disc drag adjustment is made easier thanks to a knurled, easy-grip dial so when your hands are wet you can confidently correct the drag to the desired level. The NewEra Kit Fly Reel is also supplied in a protective reel case and comes with 2 spare colour coded cartridge spools for housing additional lines.
This is an awesome bit of kit which Daiwa clearly put a lot of thought into. The styling is fantastic with the reel being extremely tough and scratch resistant. The spools are also very lightweight and engineered in such a way that the fly angler can change spools quickly and easily.
