The Firth of Clyde's fish stocks are under threat. Help us change the way the marine environment is managed, and help local communities bring back an economically viable and diverse fishery in the Clyde. Find out more and show your support at www.revivetheclyde.org
Following on from a meeting held by Ayr Sea Angling Club back in June the Scottish Sea Angling Conservation Network (www.ssacn.org) and Sustainable Inshore Fisheries Trust (www.sift-uk.org) are pleased to announce a series of angler meetings to discuss the “Revive The Clyde Campaign” (www.revivetheclyde.org) that is being run by SIFT to highlight the state of the Clyde fishery.
SIFT are in the process of formulating a shellfish regulating order which will be submitted to the government. SIFT’s aim is to promote the sustainable management of Scotland’s inshore waters so that they provide the maximum long term benefits to all coastal communities. These meetings for anglers will give an update on how SIFT’s regulating order is progressing … they also give anglers a chance to have some engaging discussions with them on the Clyde.
We would all love to see the Firth Of Clyde back to the former world class fishery that it once was, although it may well never be that good again we do believe that there is a genuine desire from many of the stakeholders to see change and only through collaboration and dialogue is there any chance of the government taking the necessary action by putting measures in place that will allow a sustainable recovery of the Clyde Ecosystem.
The events which are open to all anglers will be held on the following dates...
