Hardy Proaxis SINTRIX rods have landed! I have been playing with these for a few months now and I can honestly say they are a bit special. Even some dedicated Anti-Hardy guys I fish with have been impressed. And don't be put off buy its Tarpon and Bonefish fishing lineage - the #9 and #10 are awesome rods for Pike and Pollack, and the #8 is perfect for Bass, so these rods have many uses for the stay at home, UK fly fisher!
The Hardy Proaxis saltwater fly rod was designed and developed by Hardy in conjunction with some of the world's best saltwater guides and anglers. Their development team, led by five times Tarpon Gold Cup Grand Champion Andy Mill and Hardy's head of product development, Howard Croston, have pushed Hardy’s new Sintrix technology to the absolute limit - and the end result is staggering in both performance and durability.
These fast-action rods are loaded with cutting edge features, like lightweight saltwater-safe hardware, titanium recoil guides and, of course, Hardy’s revolutionary Sintrix material. Proaxis rods are lighter, stronger, more impact resistant and capable of withstanding much higher loads than standard graphite fly rods. So, with less chance of damage, you can cast further, fish longer and fight harder when pursuing big saltwater species.
GAC are stocking the 9' four section format, which arrived last week, but there is also a one piece version, which is aimed at flats anglers who leave their rods permanently rigged up - if you want one of these let us know and we will work out how to get it to you! The one piece rod also comes in a comedy nine foot long rod tube!
You can purchase the SINTRIX rods on the website and if you want to try one out simply come to the shop where you can use our casting pool to give one a go!
