Tying an Early Season Midge Pupa Buzzer with Davie McPhail

Buzzers are a staple food item for stillwater Trout throughout the year and this slim buzzer pattern from Davie is deadly right from the very start of the season! Fish it dead slow on a floating or intermediate line with the longest leader you can manage for best results!



Materials used:

Hook - Kamasan B110 size 10
Thread - UTC 70 Black
Rib - Black Flexi Floss and Grey Turkey
Body - UTC 70 Black
Wing Buds - Polar Pearl Lite-Brite Coloured with marker pen
Thorax - UTC 70 Black
Breathers - Polar Pearl Lite-Brite
Epoxy - Lite UV resin

  1. Davie McPhail is awesome, I have checked out his you tube video's and for a beginner like me they are fantastic. To be honest I came to your web site for materials after watching him tie a number of patterns - so you guys should really keep hold of him. Can't tie as good as him but certainly having a go.
