Glasgow Angling Centre September 2017 Open Weekend Coming Soon!

It’s almost the end of another great summer of fishing and that can only mean one thing to the avid angler – the Glasgow Angling Centre 2017 Autumn Open Weekend is just around the corner!

Meet the Stars of Fishing
This year Scotland’s largest FREE angling event will be held from September 29th until October 1st, 2017, and this one is set to be the best yet! The team will be making a number of improvements to the format this year, but all your favourite bits of the show will be retained. Every major tackle brand in the industry will be in attendance with their latest products on show and experts will be on hand to talk you through the latest developments in every aspect of fishing. There will be FREE fishing tuition available for all types of angling, from fly casting lessons and coarse fish taster session for kids, to slide shows and rig building workshops. Whatever your preferred style of fishing, there’s something for everyone.

If you are passionate about fishing or the great outdoors, you really don’t want to miss our Autumn event. Dedicated anglers travel to Glasgow from all over the UK and even abroad - and it is easy to see why. There is more to see and do for the keen fisherman than any other angling show in the UK. With almost 30 years in the trade, GAC know exactly what anglers want to see and that’s why we have hundreds of rods and reels set up and on display, for you to touch and try. You can have a go with any fly rod you like on our bespoke casting pool or nearby canal basin if you want to try a salmon fly rod. This is by far the best way to make sure you have chosen the best tool for your needs, be it from Greys, Orvis, Guideline, Wychwood, Scott, Hardy, Vision, Winston, Loop, Sage or any one of the dozens of top brands in stock.

Don't Miss It!
We also have the UK’s biggest range of angling apparel and waders. The walls of our clothing section are jam packed from floor to ceiling with jackets, trousers and waders from Simms, Patagonia, Hodgman, Scierra, Airflo, Vass and much more. We have a huge selection of fishing flies, from every major supplier in the trade. Chose from the likes of Fulling Mill, Fario Fly, Atlantic Flies, Craig Barr, Dragon and Caledonian Flies. So our Autumn event gives you the perfect opportunity to restock those depleted fly boxes with winter patterns for the coming months. We also have a massive range of fly tying gear which takes up a significant portion of the store and our comprehensive Sea and Coarse fishing departments are bulging with goodies from all the best-known brands. Alternatively, if lure fishing is your thing then GAC has more fishing lures in stock and on display than any tackle shop in Europe and has become a Mecca for keen predator anglers in recent years for this very reason. Chose from all the latest and greatest from Savage Gear, Westin, Rapala, Salmo and more.

The store is the nearest thing you will ever get to a fishing tackle Aladdin’s cave, boasting a mind-boggling 40,000 different products on display. It is one rare opportunity where you can see and touch rods, reels and equipment you might want to buy and fish with, all under one roof.

Loads of Free Parking
There are refreshments on site, so you can enjoy a coffee and a bite to eat. Most tackle-shops can't offer their customers the same level of service as the GAC. Not only does it stock the single-largest range of tackle and clothing in Europe, but there is ample space in which customers can try before they buy.
The store is just two minutes drive from Glasgow's M8 motorway and is easily found. It also has its own large car park. Inside you can hold and compare tackle under one high ceiling. The same goes for the hundreds of reels and fly-lines. If you are an armchair angler you can pick up the latest books, DVDs and catalogues.
