Swarovski dS 5-25x52 PL Riflescope

The Swarovski ds 5-25x52 PL riflescope is one of those technical innovations where the imagination, combined with expertise in the field, have changed the future of hunting.  Imagine a scope that takes into account all the key factors when aiming to take a shot: distance, air pressure, temperature, angle and displays the correct aiming point for you - no manual adjustment required!
Swarovski dS 5-25x52 PL
Well those clever people at Swarovski have utilised the power of smartphone technology and created a riflescope that factors in all the above variables and the personal ballistic data for your firearm and ammunition combination to instantly display the correct aiming point.
State of the Art Targeting
Way back in 2007, Z6(i) was the epitome of scope accuracy.  With ultimate levels of clarity, accuracy and performance, they became the most advanced scopes for hunting. 10 years later and Swarovski are at the forefront of scope design and development with the revolutionary dS series.

Swarovski dS is smart technology.  Traditional methods of range finding still have their place. For example being able to navigate with a map and compass is a skill in itself and something that will stand the test of time.  However when GPS came along it was a game changer.  All of a sudden, with the flick of a switch you are able to pin-point your position with exceptional accuracy.  The same has happened in hunting.  It's evolved and like the digitisation of navigation, it has pushed the boundaries of what is possible.

Automatic Detection of Aiming Point
The dS detects the optimal aiming point for you.  It measures the exact distance and automatically displays the correct aiming point, distance to target and wind direction adjustment in the scope itself as a dot.  No manual adjustment is necessary because it's all done through Bluetooth. You just need to focus on the target and the data is exchanged between your smartphone and the scope.

The advantages of the dS 5-25x52 PL riflescope are obvious however one of the most salient is the ability to negotiate strong winds and steep shooting angles over longer distances which essentially increases accuracy.

Akios Targa Fixed Spool Reels For Less

Akios Fixed Spool Reels may come at a reasonable price point but don't be mislead by the price tag.  These reels are an exceptional piece of kit for all styles and anglers of all abilities. The Akios Targa 3500 is the perfect reel for fishing on smaller rivers and lakes; the Targa 4000 has a greater line capacity so you can fish with thicker mono and braids.  Lastly, the 5000 has a gear ratio of 5.5:1 and an even more generous line capacity of 240yards of 10lb so you can cast much further and target bigger specimens such as Pike, Barbel, Carp or even Salmon.

If you like your reels to be super smooth then you will be sorted with a Targa.  It features tempered oscillation speed for exceptional line lay, and with excellent line lay comes less friction which means further and accurate casting!

Other features of the Targa include a high quality carbon fibre drag system which gives you much greater control when playing hard fighting fish.  Even after those big lunges for freedom, you can feel confident that the drag system won't let you down. The Targa also has a lightweight hollow bail arm, ergonomic EVA handle, corrosion resistant instant anti-reverse bearing and comes with two spools - 1 x deep and 1 x shallow spool.

So whatever type of fishing you have in mind, there's a Targa Fixed Spool Reel to suit your requirements and now you can experience the benefits of this cracking reel for even less - but hurry while stocks last!

Another Successful Weekend at Scotland's Biggest Free Angling Show

It's been another hugely successful Open Weekend for Glasgow Angling Centre.  With an impressive line-up of fishing stars, bargains galore and a fantastic timetable of free tuition and demos, anglers travelled from all over the UK to gear up for the new season - and they were not disappointed!

Captivated by Davie McPhail
March 2017's Open Weekend was one of the best attended to date, as the excitement builds for the forthcoming fishing season. This year's focus was all about learning and equipping anglers with all the latest tips, tricks and techniques.  Free fly casting tuition, sea rig tying demos, lure fishing demos, audio visual presentations and fly tying demos were available throughout the weekend and clearly there is still a huge appetite for growth and improvement.

Advice from the Hardy Team
Stevie Reid
From Game Fishing, right through to Predator fishing, there was an impressive line-up of top names available to answer questions and to offer fishing tackle advice.  Ian Gordon from Hardy was busy chatting to anglers about Spey Casting and Salmon Fishing and Stevie Reid, who is a highly respected casting instructor, was passing on his knowledge and helping anglers.

A Winning Cast?
Overall, there is still a buzz about the weekend. The car parks were full and loads of happy anglers were snapping up the bargains. However, what's special about this event is the sense of community and camaradery among anglers. Like minded individuals with a love for the freedom and adventure of fishing came together to indulge their passion.

Buying a new Rod
One of the big advantages of the Open Weekend is that anglers get to see all the latest 2017 products including rods and reels from the biggest names in fishing tackle.

Scott MacKenzie
World Spey Casting Champion and man behind the MacKenzie DTX range was in full flow discussing Salmon fishing and singing the praises of his new FX1 Graphene Fly Rod.

If you attended the event, Glasgow Angling Centre - Fishingmegastore would again like to extend our appreciation for coming along and supporting us and making the event the best yet. We look forward to serving you in the coming weeks and months ahead and wish you a very successful 2017 season.
