Tying Davie McPhail's "Black Pennel" Wetfly.

A classic wet fly, the Black Pennell series was developed for use catching trout and sea trout by the Victorian author Cholmondeley Pennell. With success catching Atlantic Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout and Sea Trout, this fly is particularly potent during a rise of chironomid midges (buzzers) and terrestrials. Effective as a bob fly for lake and sea-trout fishing. All of the materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Centre as listed below, but as always if you need any help finding materials or substitutes then we'll be happy to help. Without further ado, here's Davie McPhail's take on a traditional, classic Black Pennell.
