Has the Kamasan B175 met it's match?

The new Partridge Wet Heavy Supreme - now in stock!
When we were first shown the new G3AL hook from Partridge by Sales Director Darryl Mooney we were immediately impressed and could see it had serious potential to be a strong contender against the best selling Kamasan B175! These strong general purpose fly hooks have quickly gathered a good following amongst both amateur and professional fly tyers for tying traditional patterns as well as flies for the more demanding competition scene. Here is what top UK fly tyer, Paul Procter had to say about these hooks recently on his blog - a great read that every serious fly fisherman should subscribe to!
The new Partridge Supreme Wet hook (left) is even heavier and stronger than a Kamasan B-175 (right)!
Tangling with big trout requires tackle you have total faith in. Of course, rod, fly line and tippet are all vitally important. However, everything’s academic if you plan on using hooks with a fine or even standard wire. These simply aren’t up to the job of levering tenacious fish away from their bolt holes. The new Partridge Wet Heavy Supreme on the other hand is designed not to straighten, even on the most stubborn of fish. In fact, having used them on our New Zealand adventure, I can happily report they are Strong…like Russian bear…
