Fish of the Month May Entry!

Peter McFarland's daughters, Coral and Crystal, with dads 20lb Springer taken on Loch Lomond. The Salmon was taken in very stormy, dull and overcast weather, on a modified Black & Gold Zebra Toby with gold tinsel tied into the tail. The fish was caught opposite Tarbet bay on the East side of the loch. The rod was a 15ft Daiwa Wilderness XT and the reel was a Penn Multiplier loaded with 20lb line which was purchased at GAC and luckily he had just bought a large Salmon net the week before as there was no way this fish would fit into his usual trout net. The fish took about 20 minutes to land due to its great power and the fact that he could hardly stand due to the weather conditions.

Glasgow Field Sports is moving!

GAC's popular sister store, Glasgow Field Sports, has been serving central Scotland's hunting, shooting and stalking enthusiasts for almost as long as the Angling Centre has! To help us give a better service we thought it would be better to have it all in the one location. so we have decided to move GFS to within the GAC store.
Shooting equipment now available from GAC
Some of you may have noticed the building works taking place at the rear of the shop, where we have been busy building the GFS Gun Room, a kind of a store within a store, where you can get great advice on shooting, stalking, and hunting and see great products from famous brands like Beretta, Browning, Sako, Tikka and Remington, air rifles from Weihrauch, Air Arms, Webley and Theoben, Optics from Swarovski, Bushnell and Hawke and accessories from Deben, Bisley and Garlands plus many, many more. Plus there will be a comprehensive outdoor clothing section with garments from Le Chameau, Barbour, Musto, Seeland, Harkila and Deerhunter plus footwear from Aigle, Hunter, Meindl, Le Chameau and Muck Boots which will appeal to both anglers and shooters visiting the store.
Glasgow Field Sports is Moving!
The new store will also be continuing to offer it's popular mail order service for field sports enthusiasts that cannot get to the store. Plus, to make space for all the new products we will be having a sale with many big reductions on clothing and accessories and most of these items are on sale now in the GAC store so come and have a look or watch out for the sale lists online! For update and info on the progress of the move you can also go to the GFS Facebook page where we will keep you up to date! The move is expected to be complete in the next few days but you can shop for products from today!

Fish of the Month May Entry!

Ashley Pett's choice of venue was Orchard Place Farm Lake, which is stocked with Carp up to 50lb. When he first got to water he saw a few fish moving on the corner of one of the islands so the tactic he chose was just a simple bottom blow back rig with a boilie and after about an hour the left hand rod roared off and he was into a hard fighting Carp which turned out to be a 21.7lb Mirror! He was very happy because it was the first time he had fished this lake!
